About

Since returning to woodturning in 2023, a craft I first (and last!) tried as a 14 year-old at school, I have become increasingly fascinated by how green (unseasoned) wood changes shape as it dries out.

Using only ethically sourced timber I try to capture the living essence of trees in transformation. Deliberately incised with fine slices, the pieces I make invite movement from within. As the wood dries and breathes, it begins to shift—subtly twisting, warping, and waving in response to its environment.  Like the woodland it came from, the pieces will forever be 'turning still,' continuing to move with the rhythm of the world.

My work ranges from sculptural objects and hollow forms to contemporary homeware. Sometimes, I add colour and texture through ebonising, dyeing, or scorching and wire brushing.
